The Best Activities To Do Solo in NYC

In the last few months, I've thoroughly been enjoying some much needed time spent with just me, myself and I. Doing activities alone has not only been refreshing, but it has really shown me the importance of being comfortable with my own company. Below is a list of my favorite things to do, by myself, throughout New York. *Sorry I'm busy, hanging with myself!*

1. RELAXING IN CENTRAL PARK

One of my favorite places in the summer is Central Park, Sheep Meadow to be exact. Typically you'd plan a trip to the park with friends, maybe bring some food or a game to play. But, in my free time I love walking/biking to the park and laying out in the sun. Not only are you perfecting your tan, but it's the best time to listen to some music, a podcast, read a book or even sleep! The best part, if you're too hot or just ready to leave, you can! No worrying about other people!

2. SHOPPING

Although shopping is another activity that you might typically do with girlfriends, shopping alone is the best. If you're a shopaholic like me, I like to take my time, really look through all the racks and try on EVERYTHING. That can get a little annoying when you're with others. I've found, not only do I tend to have a better time but, I always find the best items when shopping solo.

3. EXPLORING MUSEUMS

Museums are the spot to be, especially during a rainy day in the city. Most museums in the city are huge, as to be expected. Going solo really allows yourself to wander and take in the artwork. If art is your thing, going to museums alone will quickly turn into a frequent activity.

4. BREAKFAST CAFE

New York is filled with super cute and cozy cafes. So when it's Sunday morning and you don't have plans for the day since you've kept your day open for errands and chores, spend your morning at your local cafe. A year ago, you'd never catch me in a cafe alone. But, not only is it nice to enjoy a meal outside of your apartment, you can also be very productive whether it's by reading or bringing your computer to do work. AND maybe there is a cute barista you can meet- you never know!

5. PAMPER YOURSELF

Sometimes you need a day to treat yourself. Whether it's getting your nails done, a massage or a blow out, it's important to spend quality time with yourself, for yourself. My favorite activity to do alone to pamper myself is to get my nails done. Currently I am rocking gel, but my favorite place to go it Glitz Nails in the East Village because they do acrylic for so CHEAP.

5. BIKING AROUND

As an avid citibike lover, biking around the city alone is one of the best ways to explore! Take a ride through neighborhoods you've never been to, check out the local shops and take some notes for future reference (pull over of course!). Also, on the west side there is an amazing bike path which is an amazing way to get in a little work out!
